Early Automobile Inventors Photos The Hybrid Sternad Racer

Fascinating grouping of original c.1910 photo album pasted photographs of an early Automobile inventor/designer engineer named A.F.Sternad. There are roughly fourteen 2 1/2" x 4 1/2 inch photographs in all pasted on the front and back of old album pages. The car is shown and described in newspaper articles of the time. At a staggering cost of $10,000 dollars which most of it was in 500 pounds of aluminum this car operated on steam power. So if you think today's hybrids are on the cutting each on technology...think again. Ole' Andy Sternad had them beat by 90 years! I wonder what happened to this car. My bet it was scrapped out during WW2 for it's metal content. At one time aluminum was considered a precious metal. Today big oil would never allow this type of car to be produced.
