Fresh from a local estate is this marvelous Civil War memorial framed worked of chromolithograph art & calligraphy.
The soldiers name is Charles S.Morse and he enlisted on Sept. 29th 1861 with Company I 86th Regiment New York Volunteers. He fought at Bulls Run, Fredericksburg,Chancellorsville,Brandy Station,Gettysburg,Petersburg,Strawberry Plains,Hatchers Run,Farmville and many other battles noted. This soldier did it all and actually survived! The piece is housed in the original 31" x 38 inch frame with the old slag board backing on the verso.
