Shenango green crest restaurant platter
What a nice example of Shenango green crest restaurant dish wear. This oval plate has a strong green edge with an irregular shape that some research calls green crest. It reminds me of the edge of a leaf on the front of it. The center is an egg shell color. The plate is thick and feels quite sturdy. It measures 13 1/2 inches by long by 9 1/4 inches wide. The back side has some discoloration and wear on the edges of the inside rim. The mark on the back reads Shenango China, New Castle, PA,U.S.A. Rim Rol, Wel Roc, T-14 and has an Indian figure painting a plate above the logo. This plate does show some slight scratching from use but in general is in good condition. Shipping weight of this piece is 4 pounds. A nice piece of vintage dinner ware.
