Abdhul Bossons wall head art
This Bossons wall art is of Abdhul from the area of Afghanistan. Head dressed in a tribal red scarf with green, white and yellow stripes on it this man has obviously been out in the weather. According to the Bossons site the straight stripe version on the head wear was one of the later versions of this head. This head was made of gypson plaster between 1961 to 1987 and is one of the harder to find heads. He has dark long creases on his forehead and a gray, black mustache beard. He has a yellow shirt with a red tinged geometric design on the yellow collar which according to the Bossons site is one of the three variations of this head. The collar area has two tiny minute nicks which show up white but are on the lower edge so less noticeable. See picture please. The back has the rectangle hanging hole with the wire across. Bossons wall hangings were made of Gypsum Plaster called Stonite which was especially designed by Ray Bossons to harden the pieces more for shipping. It has several scratches on the back. He measures 7 inches long by 5 ½ inches.Shipping weight is 3 pounds in a large box. The underside of his collar reads Bossons Abdhul on it. A nice piece for any collection.
