Great primitive piece of early 1900s history. This pine garden/tool carrying box came from the Hudson Valley area. It is pine with finger-jointed corners and attached half-round handle. It is two-sided; one side is again divided; the patina, well only age can create that kind of beauty. One side has minor split, but again, it is aged smooth. This has not weakened the box but adds to its character. It's been around this long, I would guess it will last another 50+ years. The box measures 15 inches long by 11 inches wide by 5 ¼ inches deep; 6 ¼ inches high to the top of handle. Still a usable item in the garden or for storage of other tools. These style boxes are quite impressive when filled with flower pots and flowers; also makes a neat silverware and napkin storage. Use indoors or out. Just love it!
