Offered here is a 19th Century Firkin with handled lid. It is quite large and was most likely used for storing flour, sugar or other dry ingredient. The Firkin measures 17 ½ inches tall. Diameter at top measures 14 1/8 inches; bottom diameter is 15 ½ inches. Many Firkins were painted; they are more primitive looking than this Firkin that is in excellent clean usable condition. I like them either way. This one would be great for storing yarns or magazines; of course, you could also use it for its original purpose and store dry measures in it. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
