American Handpainted Porcelain~30 Pieces~Artist Painted 1922
She has used several different blanks, all of the same design or mold. The most prominent porcelain mark is from the Rosenthal factory and some pieces have the pattern name of 'Donatello'. Her name and or her initials appear on most every piece. Most are simply signed with the initials of 'GVL' and some signed 'G V Lucas' some also with the location name of Hayward, which I assume is Hayward, California. She evidently painted this beautiful set over several years with the earliest date that I have found is 1922 and the latest day of 1933.
The artist used shades of yellows and golds with nice touches of gilding. The base porcelain is white but the artist has added a slight tinge of yellow so the center of each piece is that color. Wonderful condition with no nicks, cracks or crazing. Some very light signs of use but overall in very good vintage condition, and I think you realize this set is 90 years old this year!
