This pair of earrings is Alpaca silver with inlaid mother of pearl, abalone and onyx. The back is signed Alpaca Mexico. They are just like in Mexico, sitting beside the mountain, looking at the moon and stars, shining over the water. The white mother of pearl lets the light bounce off of the stone and shine just like the moon and stars. The abalone is the perfect stone for the ocean, it has waves of color just like the waves in the ocean. It is all set off with a back drop of black onyx. The oval centerpiece is 1" by 3/4" with the teardrop shaped onyx dangles having a 1" drop. The total hang will be 2 1/2" to the middle dangle. The pair weighs almost 10 grams.

A fitting example of Alpalcan Mexican jewelry. I guess what is so striking to me is the way the waves are from the abalone, a wonderful work of art.
