This is a crochet lace collar or trim done in Irish Crochet. This is a very detailed piece of Irish lace with the smallest thread available. It is handmade and almost unbelievable the time that was spent to make this gorgeous piece of art. The collar is 42" long and done on a curve. If you sew it on a straight seam it would have a ruffled or rippled effect because of the curve of the lace. The lace is 2" wide. The design is your typical Irish lace design 2 triangles with shamrocks at one end and a 3D rose at the other. The edge has 5 crochet triangular lace points hanging from each of the scallops. I don't see any breaks in the threads. It is a pretty piece of lace in very good condition with the patina or warm dark Ivory color you can only get from an older piece of lace. This piece of lace deserves a new home as the centerpiece of your new project, whether it be for dolls clothes, a child's outfit, your new dress, the edge of a lampshade, pillows, christening dress or even your wedding gown., let your imagination go wild. It is a piece of art that deserves a new place in history.
