Pure Silk Boudoir Trousseau Robe With Ornate Lace
Beautiful old pure silk boudoir or trousseau robe, wrap style with ornate lace. Very small size. The fabric is a silk charmeuse or silk satin, a honey ecru shade, with silk lace trim a slightly peachy ecru. There is one tie at the waist, we think it was intended to be worn with the two fronts overlapping. Fabulous ornate sleeves 28" long from neckline to sleeve end, we see some holes in the lace. Total length of gown / robe in the back is 69" from neckline to back of the train. Yes, it really is a train, this would have been fit for a Queen or at least a wealthy lady's trousseau. The oval back train with ornate lace panel applied over the silk tapers to shorter in the front. The bust measurement is approximately 32" and waist 24" with it wrapped as original, if worn slightly open it will be slightly larger. It is in overall very good condition, no stains of any significance at all, no aromas, some holes in the lace but it is a very sturdy fine lace and a good seamstress can secure the laces with a lining in the back if necessary. Definitely a wearable gown / robe and one of the most beautiful we have seen.
