Old French Child Jesus Statue Rare Design Religious Figurine

Offering for sale a rare old French statue of the child Jesus. This is a real beauty, with Jesus in a peachy pink robe with gold accents on the borders and the waist cord. He is standing barefoot on a could, and holding the Book in His hand, with other hand in blessing. On the book, in French, "Si vous M'aimez, Imitez Moi". This statue is made of old chalk ware, or possibly French pipe clay, it is hard to tell on the statues with color as we can't see the layers to look for the pipe clay finish, but is does have the silky smooth finish typical of pipe clay. It stands 19 & 1/2" tall and in overall good condition with a re-glue on the right arm quite well done, some small amount missing on the fingers of that hand, and a few tiny dings here and there, and mild paint loss from age. Small ding also on the nose. None of these have been re-painted, and this statue has less issues than most of the same age. The larges amount of paint loss is on the black base. All of the above can be painted if one desires using good craft acrylic paint from your local craft ,. hobby or art store. One of the finest statue from our personal collection.
