Offering for sale a lovely antique Holy Bible in German language. It features a beautiful black embossed leather binding, in very good condition on the front and back, some deterioration on the spine, see photos. Lovely shiny gold gilt cross and lilies on the front, faded gold title on spine. It has its original slipcase, which explains why only the spine has such wear, as the case protected the Bible over a century ! It is a thick Bible, measuring 7 & 1/2" tall and 2 & 1/4" thick. Page outer edges shiny gold gilt. Original owners name embossed in gold gilt on front of Bible. Title in German: Die Bibel ober die ganze, Heilige Schrift ulten und neuen testaments Dr Martin Luthers. Published in 1907 by Concordia Publishing House, St Louis Mo. 1079 pages in first section, and 309 pages in the New Testament.plus some color maps. Back cover has black embossed Eucharist chalice and the date 1910 in gold, probably when this was given to the original owner.
