Offering for sale a fabulous old print of the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus, a beautiful Madonna. This work of art is after Raphael ( Raffaello Santi), from an original painted in 1514 titled "Madonna della Seggiola", titled by the publisher "Madonna della Sedia". it was published by the Taber Prang Art Company, circa 1905-1910, in original frame. It is a fine chromolithograph. This print is in wonderful rich colors, in the original arts & crafts frame with carved borders and interior circular wood inner frame with textured background, 4 decorations hand painted in red & green; which perfectly complements the colors of the print. There is a metal hanging loop on top. The inner frame has a beaded edge, and a few places of this trim are missing. The overall size of this print is 13 & 3/4 square, the exposed or visible glass area is 8 & 3/8" across. I have not opened this print to look for any maker marks as there was no need to disturb the print., and we were able to identify the original maker of both print and frame as we have a second one with original label in slightly different frame color. I see a lot of this particular print for sale, but never before have I seen one in such a fine frame and of such rich colors. The Taber Prang company was noted for extremely fine chromolithographs in their day.
