Old Italian Jeweled Crown For Santo Saint Virgin Mary Statue
The most beautiful crown we ever had in our collection ! This one is from Italy, large, with center ruby red stone, large emerald green stones over smaller pink ones, and borders of rhinestones, a few missing we think. This crown is adjustable at the back, being 5 & 1/4" across at the smallest setting up to 5 & 1/2 " or larger across. The center front is 4" tall. It is in very good condition with of course some wear from age on the gilt metal and a few stones gone but, who would notice ? We have not seen another one this beautiful except in museum catalogs. Probably was originally on a large near life size statue of the Virgin Mary, or other figurine; could have been made for a person to wear as well.
