Fabulous old wood Tabernacle door, from France, with lovely hand painted Chalice with Eucharist Host on the front and other typically French decorations on the door and side posts and framing. It has a lock, no key remains, old fabric lining inside the door, a nail holding the door shut, you would need a locksmith to get the lock situation settled of course. This is the only time we ever had one of these in our collection, bought many years ago from a fine antiques dealer that shops exclusively in France and Europe for us. They have not found one since. We often see just the door itself for sale here and there, but to find one with the original framing is a plus. The overall size is approximately 22" wide and 33" tall and is 5" thick. The actual door is approximately 15" by 10 & 1/2". The door itself is in nice condition, the front overall as well, with small missing pieces here and there, notice the left column is missing a decorative piece that is on the right, do look at the photos with enlargement. This is a heavy item and will require trucking shipping as done with furniture. We have loved having this piece, but it was just too large for our home altar and we did not want to take it apart. It is constructed in layers, we tried to show a photo taken from the top. there are several holes in the top also, which may have been for electricity to light the interior originally, just not sure.
