Offering for sale a fabulous antique locket. This one is from England, 1800's, made of horn; and on the front a wonderful inlay of mother of pearl. The inlay is a Church, or possibly a castle, we do see a cross on the top of the building, but another turret in the background has a flag. Very lovely detail on the inlay, the photos do not at all capture the lustrous quality of the mother of pearl and the workmanship. Inside the locket, both sides have the glass and old purple mourning fabric underneath; and one side has a hair souvenir. The locket opens and closes easily, and does snap shut correctly. It measures 2" tall including the loop at top and 1 & 1/4" wide. It is in very good condition, no significant damage or repairs, minor wear as expected. Very rare to find such a piece with a Church or castle on the front !
