Weidlich Large Jewelry Casket Box Roses Victorian
Lovely large Victorian jewelry casket or box, signed W B Mfg for the Weidlich Manufacturing Company, makers of these fine boxes in both silver plate and brass and gold plate. This is the largest one we ever had in our collection, measuring 11" long, 4 & 1/2" front to back and 5" tall ( of course it won't be as tall on the inside due to the design with the feet. Lovely footed design with the entire box covered in beautiful roses buds and vines design, even on the ends! It is a gold tone metal, some type of plating over a base metal, still in quite good shine and luster; note we did not polish this at all. Structurally sound too, and a lovely red velvet lining, old but may or may not be the original lining. Truly a beautiful piece, ready to display your jewels in your home or shop. These large ones are very hard to find especially in the gold color.
