Offering for sale a rare and fabulous antique pendant from England. This is truly a museum piece, and very hard to photograph due to the bubble glass. It features a beautiful fairy or ballerina, hard to tell, very magical looking lady standing at water with hills behind her, this is also a guess, you never know what the jewelery artist intended. I am assuming the vibrant blue is butterfly wings, but I think the fairy lady is reverse painted on the glass, again we are guessing. In all our many years of collecting old jewelry, we have had only two of these beautiful works of art under glass. Take a close look at her skirt, we think there some stones underneath the glass, the other piece we had similar to this looked like opals inside, we are not sure about this one, but they have a very interesting look. The glass on this one is quite convex, big bubble, and framed of course in sterling silver. On the back it is marked England PT (?) and number, then Sterling. It is 1 & 1/8" tall and 1" wide and in great condition with no damage or repairs, minor wear only. It is on a sterling chain as we b bought it, and the chain is 18" around. I don't think you will ever see another piece like this one. We bought it over 25 years ago from a fine antique jewelry dealer who retired long ago.
