Fabulous Lion Pin Sash Brooch
Probably the most fabulous old brooch or sash pin we ever had in our collection; this mighty lion peeking our from an elegant art nouveau style border, in crouch position. Red stones for eyes and a faux diamond in his mouth, with front claws and fangs of silver tone metal. We think this is gold filled, it is not marked, and is of the finest workmanship. The lion figure is in very high relief; almost 1/2" deep at the nose! The brooch measures 2 & 7/8" across and 2" tall and is in very good condition.
