Lovely vintage Chinese vase, of very heavy brass, could be polished bronze, featuring very high relief dragons or sea creatures chasing the magic pearl, a very traditional Oriental motif considered to be lucky. There is one upper dragon that circles the vase, and below him are two dragons with the pearl ball between them, along with other decorations. This lovely piece measures 9 & 1/2" tall and the top is 3 & 3/4" across. There are markings on the bottom we can not identify, see last photo. The vase is in good condition with nice metal patina, slight bend a little on the upper rim that may be original as this may have been a one of a kind piece. Peering inside we see a tiny glimmer of light in the upper portion, possibly a hole where a dragon part is attached, just not sure. Really lovely piece, acquired from the estate of a collector of fine cloisonne and Oriental arts.
