One of the most beautiful pair of temple lions or dragons we have ever had. These are gold gilt over metal, probably bronze judging by the weight and quality of the workmanship. Each lion is holding a removable gold gilt metal flag in one paw, with open mouth, shaped teeth and other very fine details. Each lion or dragon measures 6" by 3 & 3/4" at the base, and they are 7 & 1/2' tall. They are in very good condition with some surface wear from age, some dings here and there but overall very nice. We see one of the decorations on the bases is missing on one statue, and the other statue has a flattened place on the back of the base. We think these may have been re-gilded at one time, but this is only a guess. Please note this is an original pair, not just two of a kind. We have been told they are holding a Nepali flag.
