Beautiful large and we think rare cloisonne cat statue in wonderful colors. Turquoise blue background, the most popular glaze color used in China, with lovely designs of birds,. dragons and other creatures and symbols in shades of black, royal blue, pale blue, peach, Indian red, white, yellow; with the cloisonne enamel technique over heavy brass. This is a large cat, measuring 12 & 1/4" long measured at the base and 9" tall to the ear tip. The cat head is removable, designed that way and not sure why, you could certainly hide items of value inside and it makes it fun to be able to decide which way to have the head facing, we have shown several views in the photos. Long elegant tail with exposed brass tip, matching the brass exposed on the lips, eyes and neck area. Overall condition is very good, a few tiny places with dings here and there, and a little bending on the inside of the neck that does not show. This is an older piece, but we have been unable to find out much more than that; we acquired it from a collector of fine antiques.
