Carved Soapstone True Pair Bookends
Offering for sale a lovely true pair (mirror image) of bookends, carved from fine soapstone. these are 6" tall, 4 & 3/4" wide each and 2" deep at the base. They feature a lovely design of a flower pot or planter with graceful flow of carved flowers and leaves; and a wonderful bird below each eating the fruit. They are in good condition overall, with a tiny chip on the upper back of one, and the other bookend a larger chip in the same place, these chips could in fact be original and not damage. There is a chip or missing small area on the front of one of the cut outs in the base, other very small dings here and there. We acquired this from the estate of a collector of fine soapstone carvings.
