Very rare to find old leather bound hardback edition of "Life and Papers of A. L. P. Green, D.D., by the Rev. Wm. M. Green, edited by T. O. Summers, D.D., printed in Nashville Tennessee by Southern Methodist Publishing House, 1877, full heavy leather bound with gold gilt decorative front and back and the gold name "Lenaway Green", we assume this being a copy owned by a family member. On the spine, "Life and papers of Dr Green". Inside front cover bookplate by a prior owner, no other names or writing inside. Binding is tight and secure. Foxing on some pages, some in the text but nothing make any of the text unreadable, mostly on borders, Nice engraving of the Reverend facing the title page with original tissue. 592 pages, with gold gilt shiny outer edge tint. Specific interest for Methodist and Christianity, the South including a lot on Tennessee, Nashville and other cities. Very hard to find book, and it is cited in many other books as a reference. The leather binding has some mild scuffing on the corners on front and back and significant wear on the spine. Book measures 7 & 1/2" by 5 & 1/4" and is 1 & 1/2" thick. Not a perfect copy by any means, but lovely enough to display on a stand.
