Sheffield Plate Jewelry Casket Box Mythological Scene

Beautiful old jewelry casket or trinket box, old Sheffield plate, silverplate of course, and in good condition. It features two Pan-like creatures on the top, winged young men with goat like legs and playing flutes; at the center top a crown and in the center a blank area that could be engraved for the owner. On all four sides are ram heads with large horns in a garland, very lovely. There is a keyhole, but no longer a lock present. On the bottom are hallmarks. This is an antique piece, from the early to mid 1800's and it is in good condition with fabulous patina, with the copper base so evident through the silver; that beautiful feature of Sheffield plate we all love and collect! It measures 5 & 7/8" by 3 & 7/8" and is 3 & 3/4" tall and the center of the dome top.
