Ornate English Brass Desk Dresser Cup Mythological Figures & Nudes

Fabulous old English fine brass dresser or desk cup or holder, with beautiful slightly footed base. On the cup is a panorama around it of people, many of them nudes and mythological figures in fine detail. This lovely piece measures 3 & 1/8" tall and is 2 & 7/8" across at the top. It is in good condition, mild age wear. Strange base on the bottom, we are just not sure of the original purpose of this lovely piece.
