Offering for sale one of the loveliest bracelets we ever had in our personal collection. It has been identified for us by a fine jewelry dealer as French paste stones, set in true jewelers quality one at a time in a most unique bracelet, of silver smooth links all joined across and lengthwise, each stone in its own compartment, and slinky and comfortable to wear, even with a safety clasp. The stones are subtly brilliant, some brighter than others but all still sparkly. The clasp is also a locking style which is hidden from view when locked closed. The bracelet is marked "D.R.G.M.", a marking indicating that a patent was registered in Germany starting in the late 1800's, we see this mark many times on items from both Germany and also French, as sometimes parts would be purchased from one maker and the item assembled in another country. Given the quality of the metalwork on this item, it was probably assembled in Germany, but this is only a guess as the mark indicated only that the actual bracelet design with or without stones was registered there. The bracelet is 11/16" wide, and 6 & 1/2" long. A locally owned fine ladies clothing store many years ago opened a small section for vintage and antique jewelry and accessories, and we found this bracelet there, represented only as a sterling bracelet. When deciding to sell it, we showed this to a fine jewelry dealer we have bought from for over thirty years, and she identified it as the French paste, very rare, and this workmanship of the finest quality. Fool your friends, it looks like real diamonds!
