Old Ceramic Cat on a fringed Paper Mache Pillow Fine Statue or Figurine
Offering for sale a lovely and old cat statue or figurine which is attached to what feels and looks like a paper mache pillow with fringe on the four corners, and tiny real braid surrounding the pillow. I bought this 15 years ago or more from a local antique shop as part of my cat figurine collection. This beautiful cat of china or porcelain stands 5 & 1/2" tall including the pillow, and is in very good condition, with no cracks, chips or repair. I have no idea if this precious cat was "born" with this pillow, or a prior owner added it., although it appears to be rather professionally constructed. The glaze on the cat is wonderful, there are no maker markings I can find, but it has the feel and appearance of a very fine piece.
