Fabulous old set in fine copper from Mexico, consisting of a large ornate center piece bowl and matching pair of candelabra or candle sticks. The pair of candelabra are a classic design with lovely ornate metalwork border on the base that may have more of a brass content than the rest of the candle holder. Each candle holder measures 10" tall at the center holder, and is 9" across at the holders. The beautiful centerpiece bowl has six deeply scooped sections, with a matching or similar ornate border and elegant handle in the center. It measures 15 & 1/2" across. All three pieces are in good condition with old patina, age discoloration. etc, no repairs. We have never polished this set at all. As to maker, the bottom of the bowl has a small trademark that says Mexico and R N. Interestingly we found a similar piece at an old auction site but with the maker name Gerardo Lopez, Taxco. We do know that much of the finest silver and copper work in Mexico came from workshops with many designers present. We have been unable to find anything more about the maker of this piece. Price is for the set. We have no idea if the candelabra were original to the bowl, as we acquired this from a fine estate as a set, but they certainly seem to be s close match; the candle sticks are unsigned.
