Hand Painted Kashmir India Lacquer Box Fine Eastern Art

Offering for sale a fabulous older hand painted lacquer box from India or Kashmir. This one has the bottom and inside of the box painted black, with the outside a beautiful gold background with layers or colorful flowers and elegant birds on both the top and the sides, with the painting on the lid matching the base, see photos. This magnificent piece measures 8 & 1/2" long, 2 & 3/4" wide and 1 & 5/8" deep and is in very good condition with only minor wear., no cracks, no chips, no repairs. I think this is lacquered over wood, but it may be totally papier mache, it is hard to tell on this piece, it seems a little heavier than most of the papier.
