19th Century Early English Sprig Handleless Cup and Saucer with Small Blue Flowers

This is a lovely antique cup and saucer in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800’s. It has a simple hand painted pattern over the glaze of small blue flowers with green leaves and brownish red stems. The handleless cup and saucer are multi paneled.

The cup measures approximately 3 ½” in diameter and 2 ½” high. The saucer measures approximately 5 ¾” in diameter. The saucer is numbered on the back 321. The condition is good but there are slight imperfections in the manufacture and a rough spot where the glaze did not cover properly. The cup has a light hairline near the rim that is approximately ¼” long. There is no staining, crazing or chips.
