19th Century Early English Sprig Cup and Saucer with Purple and Lavender Flowers

This is a lovely antique cup and saucer in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800’s. It has a beautiful hand painted pattern over the glaze of small lavender and purple flowers and green leaves. There are also little purple berries hanging from small bunches of leaves. The cup and saucer have scalloped edges. The cup has a lovely molded handle.

The cup measures approximately 3 ¾” in diameter and 2 ¼” high. The saucer measures approximately 5 ¾” in diameter. Neither piece is marked or numbered. The cup is in very good condition. There are no stains, crazing, cracks or chips. The condition of the saucer is fair. There is a small chip on the underside of the rim and a glaze pop near one of the flowers.
