19th Century Early English Sprig 3 Piece Set

This is a lovely antique 3 piece set consisting of a cup and saucer and small plate in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800’s. It has a simple hand painted pattern over the glaze of small green flowers or leaves with small x’s through the center and small red dots. The cup and saucer are multi paneled and slightly swirled and have scalloped edges. The cup is beautifully molded and has a delicate handle. The small plate is round and has no scalloping or paneling.

The cup measures approximately 3 ¾” in diameter and 2 ¼” high. The saucer measures approximately 5 ¾” in diameter. The small plate measures approximately 6 ½” in diameter. None of the pieces are marked. The condition is good. Except for a small chip on the bottom rim of the saucer there are no stains, crazing, cracks or chips. There are slight imperfections in the pottery.
