19th Century Early English Sprig Cup and Saucer

This is a lovely antique cup and saucer in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800’s. It has a simple hand painted pattern over the glaze of small blue bell flowers with green leaves and brownish red stems. The cup and saucer are multi paneled. The cup is beautifully molded and has a delicate handle. The cup measures approximately 3 ¼” in diameter and 3” high. The saucer measures approximately 5 ½” in diameter. The saucer is numbered on the back. It looks like a 2 with a symbol below. The condition is very good. There is no staining, crazing, cracks or chips but there are slight imperfections in the pottery and a little flaw in the glaze on the saucer (see cu picture).
