This is a beautiful and quite hard to find porcelain teapot. It is designed in an interesting combination of medieval dragons and beautiful flowers. The spout and handle are intricately shaped dragons. The finial of the teapot has a dolphin on top. The body of the teapot is decorated in hand painted flowers that are detailed with gold highlights. The colors of the flowers are pink, purple and golden yellow. The dragon spout has a medallion around his neck. The teapot is white and has been highlighted with touches of brown and detailed in gold gilt.
It dates to the late 1800's and was probably made in Germany.
It measures approximately 9 ¼" high and measures 9 ¼" from spout to handle.
The condition is very good. There are no chips or cracks, but the fins of the dolphin finial feel rough to the touch as does the intricate top of the teapot.
