19th Century Pan Base Brass Push Up Chamberstick with thumb Grip

This is a nice early brass chamberstick or candle holder. It dates to around the second quarter of the 1800’s. The chamberstick has a deep pan. It retains its original push up mechanism used for lowering and raising the candle height and ejecting the used candle. It also has a thumb grip riveted to the bowl of the stick. The condition of the chamberstick is good. It has a few oxidation spots that need to be rubbed out with brass cleaner and could use a little more polishing. It measures approximately 4 ½” in height and the base is approximately 5” in diameter.

This chamberstick would look fabulous on an early tavern table, mantle or candlestand.
