A carved rhodonite hook is the focal of this Surfer Girl Necklace which combines elements of earth and sea. The rhodonite hook is a lovely natural rosy pink shot through with black dendrites. Trios of labradorite heishi beads frame the hook, complimenting it and making it stand out. Patterns of labradorite heishis alternate with tiger cowrie shell heishi beads separated by small bicone silver-plate beads. I chose the tiger cowrie shell heishis for this design because they have a slightly lavender hue which compliments the rhodonite focal. The labradorite beads have a wonderful quality. When the beads catch the light "just so," they flash with rainbow colored reflections. A magnetic barrel clasp completes the design.
The necklace measures 18 ½ inches in length, and the rhodonite hook measures 5/8 by 1 ½ inches. Rhodonite is thought to be a stone of compassion which deters negativity and nurtures love. It is believed that labradorite clears the mind and helps create inner balance. This necklace captures a bit of the sea—a memory of the ocean you can wear every day.
Please Note: The beads I have used to create this necklace are genuine and natural and as such there may be anomalies in shape, size, and color.
