Miniature Chinese Landscape Dynasty Shard Necklace with Jade and Agate

A lovely miniature Chinese landscape is captured in this dynasty shard pendant. The landscape features two peaks in the distance, cliffs in the mid-distance overlook a body of water, and a green hill with trees in the foreground. Two boats float in the midst of the striking landscape. All this in a pendant which measures 1 1/8 by 1 ½ inches!

I chose jade and tawny shaded agate interspersed with agate tube beads to reflect the colors of the landscape. Seed beads, a Bali necklace bail, and antiqued findings complete this unique necklace. The necklace measures 21 inches in length. The pendant was created from pottery shards unearthed during excavations of Chinese porcelain factories dating from the Ming to Ching Dynasties.

This necklace with its tiny landscape scene will be like wearing a bit of ancient history!

Please Note: Because of the venerable age of the dynasty shards, there are sometimes slight imperfections. This shard has a bubble under the glaze at the very bottom of the green hill and a couple of very slight scratches.
