1948 and 1951 Australian Half-Penny Coin Earrings with Kangaroo

These earrings have been hand-crafted from vintage Australian Half Pennies dated 1948 and 1951. The face of the coins feature King George VI of England. A Kangaroo, with its dynamic energy, embellishes the reverse of these earrings. The artist George Kruger Grey designed the Kangaroo, and it remained on the coin from 1932 until the coin was discontinued in 1964.

The coin is bordered with the date and the words "Australia Half Penny." The face of the 1948 coin with King George VI says "GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX: F:D:IND:IMP" which means "George VI, By the Grace of God, King of all Britain, Defender of the Faith, and Emperor of India." The 1951 coin states "GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX FIDEI DEF" which means "by the grace of God, of all the Britains King Defender of the Faith." The coins measure 25.5 mm in diameter (about 1 inch) and hang 2 inches from the piercing of the French-style ear wire.

These earrings with the Kangaroo in motion are sure to energize you and put a spring in your step!

Please note: Because I have created these earrings from authentic vintage coins, the coins show signs of wear.
