Silver locket, dating from the late 1800's. It is 1 1/2" in diameter and opens to reveal a generous space for a keepsake or lock of hair. The inside has a mirror, which is slightly convex, so shows ones entire face.
The front has an engraved floral scroll design around the perimeter and a flower bud design at the center. The locket is marked GER SILVER, but tests as 800 silver. The chain is 26", and has no clasp, but slips easily over the head.
Condition is very good, with slight vintage wear, but no dents or damages. It has been gently buffed, as the silver had darkened. The mirror appears to be polished metal, and has no darkened spots or scratches, but does show very minor wear.
I will include a burgundy velveteen presentation box with this wonderful old locket.
