I love Victorian jewelry, and I am very pleased to offer this lovely large hand-painted pin from the late 1800's. It is 2" x 1 1/2", with wildflowers painted on opaque black glass. It is set in a bezel with a twisted border decoration and c-clasp.
The bezel appears to be gold plated brass, and the plating has worn. The soldered areas may be original or old repairs - they are lighter in color and appear to be professionally done. There is a light area on the reverse portion of the glass, which appears to have been made when making the piece.
The painted flowers show little or no wear. There are faint scratches on the surface of the glass, which are visible under magnification, but not apparent when the pin is worn.
Condition is very good for a 120 year old piece. This pin comes in a dark red velveteen gift box.
US 1st class shipping and insurance are included. Foreign orders are at cost.
