Large and lovely covered vegetable server made by Crescent Silverware in the 1940's. The oval dish measures 14" long, 2" wide and 3 1/2" high when closed.
The lower portion is divided into 2 sections. The lid is designed so that it can be used as a cover, or it can be inverted and used as a separate bowl. I am unable to find the name of the pattern, but it has a rope-like border that would blend well with other serving pieces.
Condition is used but very good. It received only a light polish for the photos. There are minor scuffs and scratches from utensils and a few pinpoint areas where the plating has been nicked. There are no dents. The worst damage is on the interior of one handle - there is a larger scrape about 2mm long. Please see the enlarged photo of the handle.
