Red Mortise and Peg Wooden Footstool
This is a wonderful find from Pennsylvania farm country! This old footstool dates from the mid 1800's. It is a nice example of primitive Americana and mortise and peg construction.

The stool is 13 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 6 1/2". It shows signs of wear and later repair. The red paint probably dates from the 1920's, and in a few tiny areas you can see the wood earlier paint.
