Old sample card of mother of pearl buttons. It is 2 7/8" x 9" and dates from the early 1900's.
The card is fancy - black with a lion and unicorn in gold print. It shows wear.
The card has 8 different designs of buttons, and includes 1 dozen of each design. The buttons are about 8mm or 5/16" each.
The buttons have a hand-made or at least hand finished look, as not all are uniform. Buttons of this era were machine punched from shell, but the designs were cut into the button by hand.
