YAZZIE Sterling Silver Hopi Concho Belt, Overlay, 154 GRAMS
Regardless, it is a fine hefty piece that features 18 oval conchos which each measure 1 1/4" long. Each concho was made using the most fantastic overlays depicting cochina dancers and other Native American themes.
The belts entire length is 42 1/8". It is adjustable so it can be worn a variety of ways and will fit many shapes and sizes. Total weight of the belt is 154 grams of solid sterling silver.
It is signed on the reverse STERLING and the cursive script of Yazzie. It is in EXCELLENT condition! The previous owner stated she purchased this at a small antique shop local to our area about 25-30 years ago. We are unsure of it's actual age. It comes with a pair of post earrings that bear a similar design and are made of sterling. She had always worn them together so we decided to include them as a bonus. They also bear a hallmark we are unfamiliar with.
Free shipping and insurance is included on this item only. Info on the history of this piece including the name was taken from Barbara Wrights Hallmark Book of the Southwest.
