The quality is superior and the beauty is nothing less than expected from Henkel and Grosse. This manufacturer made jewelry for Schiaparelli and Jeanne Lanvin before WW2 and beginning in 1955, they made four collections a year for Christian Dior.
This simply magnificent gold plated necklace was recently acquired from an estate. The necklace lies flat and close to the neck. It is a flex design with a graduated width, starting small at the back and ending in the front with a design of hollow criss-crossed wide ribbed gold tone.
The necklace is 16" with a 2" extender chain. The chain bears the trademark Christian Dior hang tag. The fold over clasp bears the trademark Grosse© and on the inside Germany (difficult to capture). The necklace comes in the original Christian Dior Bijoux box, but it does not have the cushioned pad inside.
The box shows wear but the necklace is in excellent vintage condition.
