Goebel M. I. Hummel Large "Auf Wiedersehen" Figurine ~ Full Bee TMK-2 ~ 1940-1956
This beautiful figurine was recently acquired from a Southern estate. It is Goebel's M. I. Hummel "Auf Wiedersehen" figurine, #153. The figurine is 7 1/2" tall to the top of the waving handkerchief. It is 4" wide and has a 3" depth at the base. The back of the base has the M. I. Hummel impressed signature and the bottom is stamped Germany in black and has the full bee in the V. It has the large bee with the wings outside the "V" and this mark was not used after 1956. The number 153 is also impressed on the bottom.
This lovely figurine has an issue. The girl's hand has been reglued. It looks like a clean break, but the glue is evident as shown in the last picture. It is not obvious at first sight and I have to say, I was so excited to find this older Hummel that I overlooked the flaw at the estate sale. I have taken this into consideration in the price. There are no other issues with this figurine.
This piece with no issues would list for $650. I have marked it down considerably due to the imperfection. It is still a very nice piece for the collector.
