This gorgeous estate piece has great versatility. It can be worn as a pin or a pendant and looks incredible either way.
Made of solid 14K yellow gold, the openwork setting makes a wide frame for the large faceted Alexandrite stone. The stone alone measures 13mm by 20mm. The pin measures 1 3/8 by 1 1/8 inches. The bail swings up and measures 1/2 inch high. The trombone pin closure is very secure.
This man-made Alexandrite is a remarkable gemstone. Depending on the light source, it can change from a fiery magenta to beautiful shades of blue or red. It's often mistaken for amethyst but its colors are much more fascinating. Alexandrite is the birthstone of June.
The back of the pin is marked 14K with maker's hallmark. Only under strong magnification can we see the most negligible fleabite to stone's edge, nothing your eye would see. This pin / pendant weighs 10.4 grams.
PLEASE NOTE - We use special jeweler's putty for photographing the item. It helps show the color of the stone and in no way harms the piece. We know it looks like chewing gum but be assured it's not. This pin / pendant combination is in excellent condition. It's a double treat for any lover of Alexandrite or the look of amethyst jewelry.
