Gorgeous Old Carved Carnelian Necklace w/ 14K Gold, Jade & Pearls

Sumptuous is the word for this necklace. It's rich in color, quality, and components. Let's start with the genuine carnelian. Nothing rivals that color. It's a spicy shade of cinnamon and paprika, rust and burnt orange.

The pendant is a thick hand-carved slab of carnelian with a detailed dragon filling up the space. The back is smooth and polished. A piece of white jade connects the pendant to the beads which are facet-cut and measure 10mm. A few genuine lustrous pearls with 14K gold spacer beads and a 14K gold clasp complete the no-expense-spared look of this necklace.

It measures 17 inches around. The pendant measures 1 inch across by 2 1/4 inches high for the dragon and jade connector. The yellow gold fishhook clasp is marked 14K. We believe this necklace is of Chinese origin. It's in excellent condition. Circa 1950s. If you think it's beautiful in the pictures, you'll be thrilled to see it in person. Definitely sumptuous.
