If ever there was a 'classic' piece of jewelry that every woman, whatever her generation, can get excited about, it's a cameo. A cameo represents womanhood and beauty all in one and it's been that way since a caveman carved the first cameo for his sweetheart.
This lovely cameo carries on the timeless tradition in 14K yellow gold. She's an Art Deco era hand-carved shell cameo. She has a perfectly chiseled profile, detailed waves of curls and a decollete neckline.
The oval frame is a lacy filigree with raised beads at four intervals. This can be worn as a pin or a pendant...the bail swivels up so it can be worn on a chain.
The cameo measures 1 3/8 inches across by 1 5/8 inches high (not including the bail). It has a secure rollover clasp. The cameo is marked 14K on the inside rim and has also been acid-tested. It weighs 7 grams. The cameo is in excellent condition. Circa 1930s.
